Prayer Shawls

The prayer shawl group meets once a month from September through June.  Each knitter/crocheter provides their own yarn and chooses their own pattern.  Most shawls are completed at home, but coming together for fellowship and prayer strengthens each stitcher.  A small cross is attached to the corner and they are blessed. Shawls are always available for times of difficulty or celebration and anyone may request one at anytime. We also have lap robes available.

If in need of a shawl or lap robe please contact Sheila Smith.

Mitten Tree

Each year, in Advent, we have a mitten tree.  Parishioners and friends decorate the tree with new hand-made or purchased scarves, hats and mittens.  The mittens and scarves hang on the Mitten Tree for the four Sundays of Advent and then are donated to organizations which support people in need.  In 2020, our gifts will go to Albany Head Start which is housed at St. Paul’s and to the St. John’s St. Ann’s Food Pantry.  It is a blessing to help keep our neighbors warm.

The Wednesday Knitting Group is a primary producer of the knitted and crocheted items.  The group meets once a month for fellowship, lunch and crafting.
