A message from Dean Vang

This past Sunday we celebrated the fiftieth day of Easter, known to us as the Day of Pentecost. Two more Feasts await our presence and participation: Trinity Sunday on May 31 and The Solemnity of Corpus Christi on June 7.

How curious it is that the word Trinity appears nowhere in the Sacred Scriptures of the Church. Preachers tie themselves in knots trying to explain this doctrine means. I am often reminded of a priest who found an envelope on the windshield of his car. Inside was a Three Musketeers candy bar with a note which read, “All for one and one for three. Happy Trinity!” A Sister from the Community of the Holy Spirit in New York City often described the Trinity as a dance which is joyous, spontaneous, and vital. Put simply, it is life generating life: God who creates, the Son who redeems, and the Spirit who sanctifies.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with us all evermore! 2 Corinthians 13:14
